Where it began

Watching Our Son Struggle

MedTrip Poland began with our own son, Kian. He was still very young when he began experiencing intense and recurring stomach pain. At first, we thought it might be something minor — perhaps a food intolerance, a virus or something that would simply pass.

But the pain did not pass. It became worse. He struggled to eat, he was not sleeping properly and even an ordinary family mealtime became stressful. We followed our GP’s advice, changed his diet and tried the suggested medication, but nothing made a meaningful difference.

Eventually, our GP agreed that Kian needed to see a specialist. That should have felt like progress. Instead, we were told that we could be waiting for months for the first hospital appointment.

“When will the doctor make me feel better?”

Kian, aged seven

As a parent, it is incredibly difficult to watch your child suffer when you cannot give them an answer. We felt frightened, frustrated and completely powerless. We knew he needed help, but the care he needed was not available quickly enough.

The turning point
We decided that
we could not wait

We arranged a medical trip to Poland. Within days, Kian was sitting in front of an experienced paediatric gastroenterologist.

That first appointment gave us something we had not had for months: clear answers. The specialist assessed him, explained what was happening and prepared a treatment plan.

Almost immediately, things began to improve. Kian started eating properly again. He slept better. He became happier and more like himself.

For us, the difference was not simply that we had travelled to another country. The difference was that our child had finally received the right specialist care at the moment he needed it.

That experience changed the way we thought about healthcare. It showed us that treatment in Poland could be professional, accessible and much easier to arrange than many people in Ireland realise.

We also understood how overwhelming it can feel when you are trying to organise care in another country. Patients may not know which clinic to contact, what information to send, what questions to ask or how much time they will need to remain abroad.

Even when good treatment is available, the practical process can still feel confusing. That is where we knew we could help.

We wanted to create a service that combined access to trusted private healthcare in Poland with something equally important: a real person who could explain the process and remain available throughout the patient’s journey.

What we discovered

Good Healthcare Should Not Feel Out of Reach

Why MedTrip Poland exists

Helping Other Patients Find a Clearer Way Forward

MedTrip Poland was created to help patients living in Ireland access private healthcare in Poland without feeling that they have to manage every part of the process alone.

01

Clear information

We explain treatment options, expected costs and the practical process in straightforward language, without unnecessary medical or administrative jargon.

02

Trusted coordination

We help connect patients with suitable clinics and consultant specialists and coordinate the information needed before consultations and treatment.

03

Personal support

Patients can contact a real person throughout the process, from the first enquiry through treatment planning, travel and post-treatment documentation.

This is not only about arranging appointments

We know that many people contact us when they are worried, exhausted or unsure what to do next. Some have been waiting for treatment. Others need a second opinion, diagnostic tests or help understanding the options available to them.

Our role is to listen first. We then help the patient understand what information may be needed, which type of specialist may be appropriate and what the next practical step could be.

We cannot replace a doctor or promise a particular outcome, but we can make the journey feel more organised, understandable and human.

Before treatment

Understanding your situation

We begin by learning what treatment, specialist opinion or investigation you need and reviewing the information you already have.

During planning

Making the process clearer

We coordinate with the clinic and help you understand the proposed treatment pathway, price and travel requirements.

Throughout the journey

Remaining available

We stay in contact and help resolve practical questions that may arise before or after the treatment.

Still at the heart of what we do

Kian’s Journey Became Our Purpose

MedTrip Poland did not begin as a business idea. It began with a worried family searching for help for their child.

We remember what it felt like not to know where to turn. We remember the waiting, the uncertainty and the relief of finally finding a specialist who could help.

That experience remains at the centre of the way we work today. Every patient’s situation is different, but everyone deserves to feel listened to, informed and supported.

Kian’s journey is the heart of why MedTrip Poland exists

Now we are here to help other patients and families find their own next step.
