Individual shoulder assessment
The right treatment depends on your individual shoulder
Shoulder treatment should not be selected from symptoms or an MRI report alone.
The specialist considers the clinical examination, movement, strength, stability, imaging and your individual needs before recommending a treatment plan.
Clinical examination The specialist assesses movement, strength, tenderness, stability and the pattern of your shoulder symptoms.
Imaging review X-rays, ultrasound, MRI or CT may be reviewed or requested depending on the suspected condition and existing results.
Treatment options The plan may include rehabilitation, injections, arthroscopy, tendon repair, stabilisation or shoulder replacement.
Recovery planning The treating team explains immobilisation, physiotherapy, follow-up and when it may be appropriate to travel back to Ireland.
